Unbelievable! Another two years since my last entry. So much has happened. Almost 9 months ago I moved out of my lovely rental house in Vancouver because I quit my job at Southminster Press and could no longer afford the exorbitant rent. Since then I have enjoyed the hospitality of daughter Hope and Family in Vancouver and daughter Juliet and family in Forest Grove. Now Ive landed in Carmichael near Sacramento in CA with daughter Amelia and expect to stay here for maybe three to four months while visiting family in Davis and Fresno as well as Sacramento.
Very good news: there is some tango in this area–actually quite close here in Carmichael. I plan to check it out on Friday as there’s a weekly milonga. Fridays ave never been good for me for tango-so let’s hope this will be the exception.Theres also a bit in Sacramento, about 20-30 minutes from here. I’ve checked out Tango By the River and there’s also something called Firehouse to check–so, something at least. And San Francisco isn’t that far–and Hugo, a great teacher, is there.
My health is now pretty good again after discovering that Omeprazole-an aid reflux med- was blocking absorption of magnesium in my body and causing high BP spikes–I’m talking super high spending me to ER several times before this was discovered. Im off that med and now taking minuscule amount of BP med and feeling very well indeed., for an octogenarian. God is good. I’m eager to check out the local community center here as they also have Tai Chi classes. I’m a lapsed practitioner and would like to get back to it.
For today–it’s to the garden here at Amy’s place. Lots to do! Spring in central CA and everything’s blooming!
